The long-awaited second CD from Gravitación is an emotionally intense collection of virtuoso Italian madrigals by Monteverdi, D'India, Schütz, Rossi, Peri, Luzzaschi and Lotti. Vocal textures are fully exploited from solo, duet and quartet to quintet with theorbo (an oversized lute with rich bass strings). Sherezade Panthaki (soprano), Jay Carter (counter-tenor), Daniel Carberg (tenor) and Matthew Leese (baritone) are joined by guest artists Youngmi Kim (soprano) and Michel Angers (theorbo).
