In its tenth year of production, First Step Records is a student operated record label and publishing company providing hands-on experience in the business of music. Located at Millikin University in Decatur, IL, the label seeks to provide opportunities for students, faculty, and alumni artists.

Bluebox Records
Bluebox Records is an imprint of First Step Records, and home to our commercial music ventures. Bluebox offers Millikin students (and, well, maybe any one really) who are doing their own thing an outlet to get their music produced, manufactured, promoted, and distributed. Artists interested in working with Bluebox should contact First Step faculty adviser Matt Talbott at mtalbott@millikin.edu. We’re interested in gigging artists with great original material.
